Did you catch the Fresh Prince reboot, Bel Air, on Peacock? How about 1883 on Paramount? The Mandalorian or Book of Boba Fett on Disney+? Amazing new content traditionally called “TV shows” are now available only on streaming services. Connected TV or OTT is no longer playing second fiddle to traditional network broadcast content.
Over The Top TV, or OTT, simply put, is streaming TV content. It can be viewed through your smart TV, iPad, laptop, smartphone and numerous other devices with an internet connection that allow video playback. With so many viewers across all age ranges adopting this method of viewership, targeted ads in this space are hitting viewers with increasing frequency. So much so that ad spend for OTT is projected to equal that of traditional broadcast TV within the next three years.
